Hadi Ghofrani Ph.D.

Seismologist

Hadi Ghofrani is currently working as an adjunct research professor at the Department of Earth Sciences, Western University. He focuses his research on probabilistic seismic hazard assessment due to natural and induced earthquakes, developing ground-motion prediction equations, simulation of earthquake ground motions, site characterization, and seismic microzonation. Over the last five years, he was collaborating within a “Canadian Induced Seismicity Collaboration” research program that has been initiated at Western University. The project was focused on understanding the mechanisms and hazards associated with industry-related induced seismicity. In this multidisciplinary and multi-university research program, he was leading a project and promoting research accomplished at Western University to industry for probabilistic evaluation of seismic hazards due to induced seismicity.
